HAZEL HURDLES
As a subtle fencing material our Hazel Hurdles create a sturdy, mature windbreak or screen. They require no preservatives or treatment and benefit from a very graceful ageing process.
Hand crafted, these substantial panels last in excess of ten years and their robust construction makes them ideal for exposed, windy sites too.
SOURCE
A natural renewable resource, Hazel is a woodland shrubby tree which responds to coppicing (cutting back) by regenerating a new group of shoots. This ancient craft is still the method used today.
After approximately 8 years the shoots are ready to be cut again and these are then used for construction of the hurdles.
PANEL SIZES
We stock a range of panel sizes, each is 6ft (1.8m) wide and available in heights of 3ft, 4ft, 5ft and 6ft (900mm, 1200mm, 1500mm and 1800mm).
INSTALLATION
Our team are most experienced and we suggest using 3”by 3” posts, concreted to provide stability.
